Pre-Planned Encouragement
My new go-to phrase when meeting someone with both kids in tow is “We’re comin in hot.” I often use it as a warning, like, “Yes, we’re almost to your house but both kids are screaming bloody murder and I have to pee immediately upon entering your home.” A few weeks ago, we “came in hot” to Bath & Body Works. It dawned on me that it was the last day of preschool and I hadn’t done anything for Beckett’s teachers. Despite my better judgment, I unloaded both kids into a store with thousands upon thousands of brightly colored toddler magnets. We were only in the store for about 5…
Moving (into a Flatulent-Friendly Home)
(See title. When will I ever stop saying awkwardly inappropriate things? I hope never. Along those same lines, I just peed a little when I sneezed, if you want to know how 36 weeks pregnant is going.) I can’t tell you much about the past few weeks other than that they happened. So there’s that. Moving Day’s Eve was pretty much the worst ever, but actual moving went swimmingly aside from a few hormonal outbursts (from Taylor, of course). We honestly couldn’t have managed without the help of my brother and my parents, who were in town for 5 years 2 weeks. We painted and decorated and unpacked our little…
Wreath, Labor, & Blessings…I think
If you didn’t read the last post on this blog, you need to. My husband is so fantastic and so is his surprise guest post for my birthday. Seriously…read it here now. You’ll fall in love with him (in a strictly platonic way – otherwise I’ll kill you…in sisterly love). Beautiful, Paperful Wreath What have I been doing with my time? Still going strong with the nesting thing. I’m pretty sure the employees at Michael’s are beginning to recognize me. Last week I made a paper rosette wreath (seen first on Pinterest, my new love). It turned out really cute, but it literally took me 2 days to fold up…
Punch Bowl, Adult Movies, & Blessings
I started to write a Thanksgiving post, and, well that didn’t get published. It’s hard to top the Halloween costume story and I’ve been quite nervous to post again. I just don’t really know how these things happen to me, but I shall now entertain you with two more “This would only happen to Sarah – and apparently now Taylor, too” stories. Punch Bowl A few weeks ago, I was at an import store (you know – the kind that you really don’t like to shop at but has really good prices and is coincidentally where all the “cute” places actually get their merchandise) in Dallas trying to pick up…
Nashvegas, YAM, & Cheryl
Nashvegas Whew, it’s been a while since I’ve blogged. Oops. Taylor and I had somewhat of a sibling reunion this past weekend with his two sisters and brother-in-law in Nashville. It was quite possibly the funnest weekend we’ve had in a while. His middle sister and her husband are going to Chile in January, so we had a Labor Day festival at his oldest sisters’ house. We went to vineyards, ice cream shops, lounges, church, Mexican food…I recommend you look at my album on Facebook. I’m not gonna lie – we’re pretty fun. YAMs at The Hills A new ministry started at our church – the Young Adults Ministry (YAM!).…
