Crafternoons are for the {pinterest} birds.
A few years ago my favorite pair of earrings went missing. I couldn’t find them for weeks until, one day, I spotted the very corner of them dangling out of the toilet paper roll in the bathroom. Because children. They’re always misplacing things. I can’t be too hard on them, though, because I’ve been misplacing lots of stuff lately. Like…entire days. “Oh wow…it’s Friday already? I could’ve sworn we were on Tuesday. Wednesday at the latest.” I misplaced 3 solid days last week. Honestly can’t tell you what we did, where we went, what we wore, when we last bathed. (The more I think about it, the more I realize what a lucky…
Tubular Rescues & Flour Fun
I went to the dentist a few weeks for the first time in like 4 years, and I really only went because of the cavernous hole in my molar that my gum kept getting snagged on. I thought for sure a filling fell out, which was accurate, but it fell out because there was a cavity underneath the filling. (Is that a thing? I just typed a bunch of words that I think the dentist said but I could be way off.) As he was filling the cavity he was all, “WOW. That’s a really big cavity.” so that made me feel pretty good about the state of my teeth.…
Edible Crib Fix
One look at our once pristine crib and no one can say my child isn’t getting enough fiber. Beckett now has 7 chompers that he exercises while he’s standing instead of sleeping in his crib. Aside from the fact that I had lofty goals for the reuse of the crib, I’m sure the cocktail of polyurethane and faux cherry finish isn’t good to ingest. I looked for “crib rail protector” and “teething guard for crib” but came up with either these: (which will probably go over about as well as the fireplace protectors…) or these, which don’t match the nursery bedding and design that – at one point in time…
Giant Feet, Micah 6:8, & The "C" Word
This might be an overly serious post. If you remember the lists of things I’m good and bad at, you’ll remember that I handle hard times/stress/problems with humor. It’s a blessing because laughter makes {most} everything better, and a curse on that rare occasion you bust out laughing at a funeral. About the funeral – it’s only happened once. In Memphis. At a very lively, southern funeral. I would feel terrible for laughing, but it was due to the lady behind me answering her phone in the middle of the service saying (in her best Bon Qui Qui voice), “Helllo? Helllo? Giiiirrrrlll I can’t herrr you. I’m at a furrrnrel.…
Wreath, Labor, & Blessings…I think
If you didn’t read the last post on this blog, you need to. My husband is so fantastic and so is his surprise guest post for my birthday. Seriously…read it here now. You’ll fall in love with him (in a strictly platonic way – otherwise I’ll kill you…in sisterly love). Beautiful, Paperful Wreath What have I been doing with my time? Still going strong with the nesting thing. I’m pretty sure the employees at Michael’s are beginning to recognize me. Last week I made a paper rosette wreath (seen first on Pinterest, my new love). It turned out really cute, but it literally took me 2 days to fold up…
